The Bird Watching Bath is a place-based public intervention for Stave Hill Ecological Park in Rotherhithe. The project utilised on-site materials and a combination of traditional British craft influences, in an attempt to increase by-passer engagement with the natural environment.
The installation proposes to improve the local habitat for birds, acting as a necessary water source for drinking and bathing. Situated in a gated-off meadow, the installation encourages visitors to pause and engage with their surroundings. The project explored mindful making and outdoor crafts by repurposing harvested willow tree branches, proce
ssing wild clay and using only hand tools for the making.
