The Local Stool
The Local Stool project explores material boundaries by creating a place-based narrative between local clay and local timber waste.
In collaboration with London tree surgeons and construction companies, this project explores how design can increase the use of domestic materials in furniture design whilst simultaneously benefitting the local ecology and economy. The business model proposes to use an inner-city closed-loop manufacturing system, to offer meaningful, crafts-based employment to the community.
