Hannah Rot (b. Vienna, 2001) is an emerging designer and creative practitioner.
With an interest in using design as a catalyst for social, economical and political change, Rot explores the potential of unprecedented materials, focusing on their ability to narrate a context, bring value to user experiences and form closed-loop systems.
Recent projects have seen her exploring how a revival of London inner-city manufacture can make use of local industry waste materials to produce a mindfully crafted series of stools, exhibited at Grand Designs Live 2024, as well as using unfired clay as a renewable material for temporary lighting, as featured in Dezeen.
Rot’s designs are driven by material processes and her immediate environment, fostering a contextually rich and place-based design practice.
