The Stave Hill Bird Bath is a place-based design project, that utilised on-site materials and a combination of traditional crafts in an attempt to increase by-passer engagement with the natural environment.
The installation proposes to improve the local habitat for birds, acting as a necessary water source for drinking and bathing. Situated in a gated-off meadow, the installation encourages visitors to pause and engage with their surroundings. The project explored mindful making and outdoor crafts by repurposing harvested willow tree branches, processing wild clay and using only hand tools for the making.
